FAQ

Where are you located?

Since the pandemic began, I have successfully transitioned existing patients and have taken on many new patients online. Since patients have been very happy with this format, I will be continuing this way for the foreseeable future.

What are your hours?

I work weekday mornings from 7am – noon PST.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes.

How much do you charge?

Contact me to discuss my various payment options.

Do you take insurance?

I am not in-network with any insurance companies. Many patients do not want to use insurance for privacy reasons.

All payments need to be rendered at the time of service.

If you wish, I can bill your insurance so that you receive any insurance reimbursements.

How do I set up an initial appointment?

Simply reach out by phone or email me, and we will set up an appointment.

What is your cancellation policy?

Once we schedule your appointment, that time is reserved on my schedule for you. If you have to cancel, I require 24 hours’ notice.

If you do not give the required notice, you will be charged for the session.

With what age ranges do you work with?

I work with males and females ages 16 and up. If you are looking for therapy for a younger child, I will be happy to refer you to someone who is well qualified. I also work with couples and families.

What do you do in sessions with clients?

I will listen and ask questions and help you understand your emotions and the emotions of the people around you. I will help you learn where your emotions are coming from and how to find solutions to issues you are struggling with. I will also help you make sense of the foreign world of healthcare… and help you recapture a sense of control.

We will talk, laugh sometimes, and explore. I will support you as you challenge yourself to grow and face discomfort. Sessions are not always easy, but you will find the growth and improvements in your life well worth it.

What modalities do you use in your work with clients?

I mostly use a therapy called cognitive behavioral therapy, where you learn how your thoughts impact your behaviors.

I also provide trauma-informed care. I strongly believe that many of us are impacted by life traumas and don’t realize how much those experiences impact our day-to-day functioning.

What is your professional experience?

I have been working with patients with chronic illness for over 20 years. I have seen patients in my own practice… and have hired and trained many medical and mental healthcare providers across the country for hospitals like the Mayo Clinic and Vanderbilt University.

I believe that mental health is the most critical and fundamental component of wellness, and I cherish the opportunity to help each and every patient live full, thriving lives.

Have you been in therapy yourself?

Absolutely! I am a huge believer in understanding how we behave and learning what motivates us to behave and make decisions as we do. Therapy has immeasurably improved my life and makes me a better person, both in and out of the office.
